The Nutpatch Story

The Orchard
Nutpatch Hazelnut Orchard is situated thirty minutes south of Hobart in the coastal maritime township of Kettering. The orchard has over thirty different varieties selected from the USA, Italy, Turkey, France and England. Part of the orchard is set aside for research which is being conducted in collaboration with the Rural Industry Research and Development Corporation and the University of Sydney. The aim of the research is to investigate growth, yield and kernel quality in over twenty different cultivars.
Nougat
Nutpatch Nougat is made with only the highest quality ingredients. We pride ourselves in adding no less than 60% freshly roasted hazelnuts, only the freshest of eggs and pure Tasmanian honey sourced locally. Most nougats are made using high proportions of sugar, glucose syrup with the addition of some honey. Nutpatch Hazelnut Nougat uses a higher proportion of honey with only small amounts of sugar. When eating Nutpatch Nougat you will notice the delicate flavour of Honey and the crunch of the freshly roasted nut. This natural product contains no additives and is best kept in a cool environment. Eaten straight from the fridge or left for ten minutes at room temperature, try freezing it, placing it in a food processor and adding the crushed mixture to vanilla ice cream, simply delicious! Our varieties of nougat include hazelnut, almond, chilli hazelnut and chocolate coated hazelnut.
